What is Kinesiology?
This is a very common question and is notoriously difficult to answer in one sentence!
The word kinesiology comes from the Greek word, 'Kinesis' which means motion.
Kinesiology is a well-being therapy. We do not diagnose disease or treat conditions. We work at re-balancing the body to enable the natural healing processes to flourish.
In kinesiology, we test your muscles. The responses from these gentle tests inform the practitioner on where there are imbalances and how the body wants to be re-balanced.
It is truly holistic, working with the inter play between blood sugars, hormones, emotional and environmental stressors.
The balancing techniques used can include firm acupressure massage, nutritional supplements, lifestyle recommendations, gentle structural realignments, food intolerance testing, Bach flower remedies and emotional tools.
Kinesiology was invented by Dr George Goodhart, a chiropractor in the the USA. He incorporated some principles of acupuncture.
Kinesiology is non-invasive, we do not use needles. It is done through clothes. You only need to remove your shoes. It is gentle, yet very powerful.
What to expect
You can arrange a free 15 minute phone call with me to decide if kinesiology is for you. Please see the booking form below, or you can contact me directly using the details at the end of the page.
Your first appointment (£70)
Lasts around 1.5 to 2 hours
Before you arrive, I will email you a consent form plus a short health questionnaire for you to complete.
We will then go through your health issues at the first appointment before we start the session.
Most sessions (£60)
Lasts about one hour to 1 hour 15 mins. You remain fully clothed without shoes. It's best to wear comfortable, loose clothing.
During kinesiology, I use muscle testing so your body can indicate where imbalances are and how it would like them resolved. As it is truly holistic, there is a huge variety of techniques that can be used to address every imbalance, incorporating principles of Chinese medicine such as firm acupressure massage, nutritional support (foods/supplementation) and life style recommendations.
Kinesiology can be seen as a journey towards better health and well being.
About Me
My name is Lucinda Bilton.
It’s not an understatement to say that Kinesiology changed my life, both in terms of my health and my career.
I absolutely love kinesiology and believe it can help everybody in some way.
Back in the year 2000 I thought I had become ‘allergic’ to everything. One day when walking past an Allergy Clinic, I made an appointment. I was recommended to see a Kinesiologist. After just two sessions, I asked the practitioner ‘what is this?’ and ‘where can I learn to do it too?’.
By 2004 I had qualified with the Association of Systematic Kinesiology to Practitioner Diploma level.
In 2024, I decided to study with the College of Functional Wellness and in 2025, I again qualified as a practitioner, this time in Functional Kinesiology.
In addition, I have a BA Honours degree and speak good German and Spanish. I have spent eight years of my adult life abroad working and studying in Germany, Spain, Japan and USA.
I live in East Sussex with my husband, three daughters and two dogs.
In my spare time, I enjoy sea swimming, yoga, weight training and walking my dogs.
My practice is fully insured and I have qualified in Anatomy & Physiology.

How many sessions will I need?
This varies greatly. Some people feel great improvements in their general well-being after just a few sessions. Other people like to have regular sessions as 'maintenance'. Just as we maintain our vehicles and homes, I believe we need to maintain our health and well-being.
My own journey was that I turned up for a 'one-off' appointment and 25 years later, I still choose to have regular kinesiology balances to keep me feeling my best.
What can Kinesiology do for me?
Kinesiology can help with most conditions such as:
Hormone issues, menopause, puberty, asthma, eczema, anxiety, fears, stress, sleep issues, digestive issues, IBS, constipation, bloating, neck & joint problems, low energy, food sensitivities, skin complaints, excessive sneezing, dehydration, long term fatigue, low self-esteem.
Who is it for?
Kinesiology can help adults and children of all ages.
What do I need to do?
